End Of Salaam Halal Insurance?

I was shocked when I got a letter from Salaam Halal Insurance saying that they are not accepting any requests for new quotations or contracts nor will they be renewing existing ones. Moreover, surprisingly enough no reason was given of what led to such a decision. I checked their website (www.salaaminsurance.com) and it is the same message there.
I switched my car insurance just recently from a conventioanal car insurer to Salaam Halal Insurance. Not only was I happy with the lower insurance rate but also I was proud to support the one and only Muslim Car Insurance in UK.
Anyway, I hope it is temporary and they will be back to business soon inshallah. As Allah says in the Quran whatever we think is bad for us may turn to be good and vice versa as we don’t know. So may be it is for the good, inshallah.
If you come to know the reason of why they stopped their business, please leave your comments here.
Jazakallahu khayran.
Wassalamu alaykum.

Salaams,
Just as shocked here, have car and home insurance through Salaam and got the same letters.
Can’t find anything anywhere to say why they have made this decision……

Kamran.
Thanks for sharing this website. Mashallah, I didn’t know about their existence until now. Are they recently opened? or not marketing themselves properly maybe?
Salam Alekum,
I am an employee of salaam halal insurance and i can confirm we are not taking on new business at the moment. We havent been given the specific reasons as to why we are not trading anymore other than we are withdrawing from the uk market for the time being. That means if you have a policy with us, it will be honoured until the expirey but after that no renewal will be offered.
If we do decide to trade again (which is a possibility) in the near future, we will advise all of our customers of this.
Bahut Bahut Shukriya

Salam insurance is working starting up again – may be if you give them a call the added demand may push them to re-launch sooner.

Hello all, it’s indeed good news to hear Salaam Halal Insurance plans to resume business but if they do so, they should embark on an agressive marketing campaign to promote themselves not just as a motor insurance player but should focus on non-motor products which can help balance the portfolio mix.
Relying solely on motor business will be a big mistake as it is open secret in the general insurance industry as a whole, and in this instance for Salaam Halal Insurance, that claims experience is bad, whereby claims paid out by the company far exceeds the premiums received by the company, thus no profits to be returned to the policyholiders.
Over and above that. they should have sales people who are passionate and vigour to promote Islamic products for the benefit of muslim and non-muslims as well. Not any Tom. Dick and Harry can promote the Islamic products.
thats the problem we have with asian establishment they open a company give good discount rate and then they do the costomers…. i bet there people has done something dodgey thats why forced to shut down… dumbos
Assalamu Alaykum!
I was wondering, how much you had to pay for a year in Halaal Insurance Company??
My other question is, if I am the client of the Halaal Car insurance and had a crash with another car, how will they comenasate me ? by money or they just repair my car?
